Just to point out that, as the title of this thread says, the electric B is built on the platform of the previous generation (before 2011), the W245. The reason is that the W245 has a sandwich-construction floor, into which the electric batteries can be fitted.
The US market will get this model early. I'm not aware of an introduction date for Canada.
