Hello. I just bought a W246 2012 B-class and the rear wiper is not working. Had a quick look at it and I could see the connector is "brown-ish" (see picture).
I checked voltage in the connector and between ground and green - and ground and brown I had constant ~12V. With the rear wiper switch turned on and off.
When I turn the switch on I can hear the relay in the fuse box clicking in the correct way as to when it should activate the wiper. Also the fuse for the viper is OK.

Is the easiest fix just to buy a new wiper motor and replace? Or can there be a different problem? I feel it's weird that there is a constant 12V going to the viper, but maybe there is a relay or something inside the motor aswell that's controlling it?

If you connect a scanner, does it show any codes about your rear wiper?

when mine stopped working my local indy MB mechanic repaired it, works fine now

i also had to replace front wiper transmission

I just took a chance and bought a new wiper motor. That fixed it and everything is working now👍

I've just bought a 2016 B-Class, and I'm looking for a decent indy MB registered mechanic. Can you tell me who you used for this, and can you recommed him? We're at Bathurst and Lawrence, but distance shouldn't get in the way. Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much, HH. I'll give them a call next time I need some service; I'm actually getting some sensor work done on the car tomorrow at anther shop, and I'll let you know how that pans out.
