b200d W245 Automatic drive shafts
Hello all. I have a 2005 B200d w245 automatic. I am having a problem with finding a replacement driveshaft; the long one. I see several online auction site but when enquiring about which would fit mine. A supplier tells me there is a choice for my car and I need to get the 'code' off the label on the shaft. I haven't been back to it yet but given that the car is over 20 years old, I doubt a label would still be there. What is the differences for the long shaft, on automatic boxes? I have seen some advertised stating with RS collar. What is the RS collar? I have also seen some advertised with a spline count and others without?
Or if anyone knows if the middle joint can be bought separately, and where from, as it is just that part that is worn.
Any advice appreciated, as I need to get the parts before I start the work. Can't be without the car for days.
