Turn off Radio
Hi guys,
A very basic question: How can we turn off the audio (radio for example) while the Command is on? There are times that you want to have complete silence, no audio at all. How can we do this? (I don't want to use the "Mute"). Thanks

Curious...why not use the mute?

I had this similar concern, until I read the manual carefully. According to the manual - turning to mute will technically stop the audio. Yes, that is a combo "Stop-Pause-Mute" button. Unless you are playing Video, there are no stop, pause options for plain audio. So, basically if you are playing a CD, a track from HDD, etc, pressing 'mute' will pause/stop it. Keep in mind that pressing mute will actually PAUSE the track and will not play. When you press mute again, it will play from where you had paused it. Needless to say, if you are playing Radio/Satellite, it will only mute and continue playing in the background.
I found that helpful, and quiet a unique feature. Hope this clarifies your concern. Anyone, please correct me if I am mistaken because I am too new to this.

If you want to turn off the sound from the radio, mute does it 100%. Note that quite often you would not want to turn off the radio (the tuner), it may be needed even if you don't want to hear the radio broadcast (traffic info would be an example but there are others).

Thanks for the comments. This issue is really related to a B200 (and I know there is forum for B class but there is nothing there). In B200, if you turn off the radio, the phone stops as well. I'm looking for a way to turn off the radio but the phone could stay on. The car does not have Navi or command like the one on E350. Any advice/ experience on this is highly appreciated. Thanks

mjahani,
That indeed is your answer. Press the mute button. It will be pure silence from your system. Technically, it is your stop button, while COMAND is still on. I dont know how else can I explain this.
