My C250 has them, I'm sure the US spec should too. It may be an option and not stock.

My C250 does not have it and it has basically every option as well.

The mirrors fold manually, but they do not fold electronically. Perhaps the Canada models get it standard.

I have the C350 with electronic folding mirrors. The button is between the mirror selection buttons on the driver door. Also, on your cluster you can enable auto fold with the button on the steering wheel (if you have teh option).

I had to enable mine through the settings in the instrument cluster.

For the C250: Canada, yes (as long as the car has either MPP or MNP).

I have the US C350 Coupe and manual fold only. They are not an option or included in any pkg. Shame because I got used to them on my 128 I.

Sounds like the US gets royaly screwed on some of the options, no standard dynamic handling and no folding mirrors!

Diesel or petrol? BTW, I assume most of that difference is due to taxes, not because of MB's pricing.

Yes there's some import duty levied on cars but the figure quoted is for both diesel & petrol (same price) and does not include on-road costs, ie it's mostly because of MB AU. Here's an article from an Australian online motor magazine:
http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...415-1dgy7.html
Essentially they blame the dollar fluctuations and that pricing is set long in advance, but buyers can be assured that they're not making extreme profits! (Bah Baloney!)
Note in the article they talk about luxury car tax, that's applied after the number above, but the diesel is exempt from it here due to the fuel usage.

The BMW 328i (E90) doesn't have it. I don't think the 335i has it either (but I'm not 100% sure about that).

Dang. They could include it in the P1 pkg, though

I was just thinking...the less moving parts the better! Less stuff that can go wrong, especially for those that want to keep the car a long time.

Probably has some positive side effects...
- People will tend to keep their cars longer.
- People will tend to maintain their cars better.
- The cost of maintenance is unlikely to be the reason people cannot afford the car.

In the US, the cheap entry price means people tend to be surprised by the high cost of maintenance.

Generally speaking that's true. The other thing is it seems that the AU c-class comes with more "out of the box" which helps a little eg folding mirrors and dynamic thingi (technical term!). So we can't complain from that.

Still it could be more pallet-able if it were just a little less from MBAU.
