Cartronics VideoKey or VIM?
I'm looking at enabling the DVD function whilst I drive and also perhaps adding a TV tuner if I can find a compatible MOST tuner that will install into the C204 Coupe.
Question is will the Video key do this and will it affect the NAV function (like some VIN units) or not?
Anyone tried this?

Neither unit will effect anything in a negative manor. The VideoKey unlocks functions that are locked while in Drive. It has no inputs. The VIM is more of a creative device… it gives you 3 inputs. 1 for reverse camera and 2 more. You can use any tuner that will work on your networks with it, and other video sources (like iPod, etc).

So the video key allows the nav to keep working? (ie don't have to activate and deactivate via the steering wheel?)

Yeah, the cartronics version never has messed anything up with the nav in respect to the VIM module. To put it simply, it tricks ONLY the DVD/speed restrictive software into thinking the vehicle is in park when you are actually driving. I guess if you are watching a DVD you won't see your nav screen. Perhaps maybe you were asking if you still recieve NAV guidance when watching a DVD, and to that, I don't know the answer...
