tilt while in reverse?

i realized that when you put the car in reverse the passenger side mirrors tilt. i was in revers and couldnt see the curb so i manually tilted the mirror down and when i put it in drive it automatically adjusted it to where i had it before. ???? i dont know if you guy knew or im just a dumb F***** lol

If available on your car, the procedure is detailed in the manual. Ther is a delay of about 10 seconds between R and D before the mirror returns to the normal position.

My guess is only passenger since in North America you parallel park almost always on the right side of the street. Not sure though.

I don't know, but you ususally have to set it to have it work. I guess if you put your car in R and select the driver mirror and move it to the desired back-up location and them press M, it might save the spot for reverse only, and revert back to the original location when in D.

all i did was, put it to R because i was backing into the spot. then i was like F*** lemme me tilt the mirrors. i set the mirror so i can see the wheel and the curb and then when i put it into P it went back to the "default" position. then it got me saying NO WAY!
