Looking at a Coupe without iPod integration, anyone have experience with this?

I think that I can still stream my songs from the iPhone via Bluetooth, but will I be able to control it from the console? Also how is the sound quality if music is streamed via Bluetooth?

Does anyone have a C250 Coupe without the iPod connectivity and can weigh in?

Thanks,

I was under the impression that all trims have iPod integration? But I'll draw from my experience using my BT Audio.

But anyways, with Bluetooth function, you can skip songs and ffwd/rev your songs, but you won't be able to see the title of the song. The sound quality from Bluetooth is very good.

I wonder if this will integrate with the screen/dash properly? Has anyone tried this? What kind of cable connector would I need to bring to the dealer to test this?

Thanks,

It doesn't show the name of the songs...but i think you can control if off of your iPhone. I did it both ways when i had my 2011 E63 AMG.

I don't even use my ipod cable. I ONLY use A2DP streaming from my iPhone. I don't know why you guys are saying it doesn't show the name of the songs - it shows what is playing on the screen. The only thing is, I can only shuffle or play in order by alphabet. I can't select the song from the comand, only from the phone itself when streaming.

Sound quality is great, radio quality, and since I have imatch, I have apple quality songs, which is better than radio, amazing.

These guys are wrong.

It shows the names of the songs / artists and even works with Pandora. You need the latest iOS. I'm not sure if it is provisioned to show album art or not.

Also, I am able to control songs from COMAND. Even with Pandora it will go to the next song.

Actually, I'm not wrong. The correct answer is that it is phone-dependent. I have an Android and the BT Audio will not show the song titles. I'm sure it's possible like you said with the iPhone.

Just like with the DUN Tethering which is only possible with BlackBerry but not Android/iPhone, a lot of things are phone/platform-dependent which is MB's unique quirk.

To your point, it works on 2 x android phones I have so it's specific to model not OS
2 samsung phones tested, no issue, works with DUN (very slowly, ie you're not missing much).

I have the latest OS on my iphone, it doesn't show any song/ album info via bluetooth. But when I stream from an ipad, it shows the song and album info. Both have the same iOS version number.

"you won't be able to see the title of the song" is what you said. It is indeed phone independent and you were indeed wrong because you never said that, you simply said it didn't work. I was saying that you *can* see the title of the song, the car has that capability.

That's strange. Some kind of bug with your phone then If you have everything backed up onto iCloud you can do a fresh install of iOS and it should work.

My iPhone 4 doesn't show bluetooth info either and it was supposed to do it. I have an aftermarket unit in my current car. It might have something to do with the particular BT protocol used by the phone.

iPhone 4 (both S and the regular iPhone 4) works just fine and shows all the song titles - but only on the latest iOS. Maybe you need to update? Otherwise it's a bug and you'd probably have to reinstall iOS.

Why would you need without? No plans to use than just don't connect anything. Same as CD, no one use it these days but one time in full moon I do. I do have 80G ipod connected all the time. iphone just to stream Pandora or whatever I like. Sound quality is good and you could control.
