DIY

ok so i end up doing this and to be honest its not that hard its just time consuming ... i will show u how i got the wire to the trunk since it was what holded me back from doing this and i couldn't find any details on it anywhere. i used THE EASIEST WAY since i didnt want to break anything on the lease car and to remove it later if i have to.

first i got all the necessary equipment of ebay and fallowed this DIY to get to the stereo which was pretty easy to do..

things ull need:

1- rear view camera CMOS200
2- fakra to rca cable
3- 2 meters extension cable to get to the head unit from trunk
4- Tools

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...2-c-class.html

it was exactly how it was described tnx to Kaewen
(the only deterrence i did notice was that when i removed the vent i didnt find any wires connected to the blue plug for air flow illumination.)
please let me know if yours has the connector or not

so here i removed the stereo... i had to remove the fakra cable from its housing to fit into the slot. the rear view plug is the green one on the left

the YELLOW LINE in the pictures shows path of the wire. which shows it goes from back of the head unit to under the glove compartment whichis held by 3 screws

here i removed the side panel of the glove compartment by pulling it which was pretty easy to come of and then i got the wire from point A to B

here i got the wire from B to C without removing the panel. and tucked it under the door still as much as i could all the way to the back ( it is pretty secure and wont get out of there since its really tight and u have to force it.

the wire goes all the way to the point D and up to the side of the rear seat

finally got the wire all the way to the trunk and its hidden all the way like it doesnt exist.

this image is taken from the trunk where the fuse box is on ur right. it shows the wire behind the carpet thing on the side of the trunk which can be loose by removing the too plastic pins that hold s it in place.

here is the fuse box im talking about which the camera power from

and finally the wires from the camera must go up from under this plastic cover which can be removed easily.. there are one pin on top and two hook kind of thing.

after this point it was getting dark and i had to finish it so i couldnt take more pictures but its prety straght forward and u can fallow the rest using this DIY.

Hi Ossyrise,

Hi want to add the rearview camera, and I have read all the DIY. I have some questions:

1-Wich Fakra did you bought ???
2-I cannot see any picutre of where i have to take the Power for the camera?? can you show it to us?
3-You have the Cmoss camera but in some forums there are people that recomend the CCD cameras, what do you think about it??

I'm In Uruguay south america and here in the mercedes dealer don't sell any original accsesorioes

Also my in my car the air flows are not iluminated I think is the same like you, did you plug the blue conector and then this start to iluminate the air flows??

Thanks a lot

Daniel.

Hi Daniel

I bought the fakra to RCA cable from eBay and had to take the metal part of fakra since it didn't fit
For the power I just connected the red wire to one of the empty fuse slots which I think was number 81 and the ground wire to the bolt right beside fuse box where everything else goes
I haven't had any problems so far and don't really know which is better

I couldnt find any wires to connect the Eliminator so I just left it as is

Hope it helped
