I visited the dealer this morning and was able to look beneath the 2.5" plastic hood badge on the C204 Coupe. I can confirm that the standard hood divot exists under the factory flat badge. This means that my series of AMG and WHITE STAR Flat Badges will fit on this new coupe,

In addition to being all metal (vs plastic), my AMG and WHITE STAR Flat Badge sits flush with the hood (inside the hood indentation, the "divot"), providing a more aero look. In comparison, the OEM badge sits on top of the hood where it catches towels, etc, when you wash your car.





Both flat badges are handmade from a genuine Mercedes upright hood ornament, part 210 880 01 86, using the original mount of the OEM part. So, they will fit all cars using this part, along with a few coupes that use the flat, SLK badge... including your new C204 Coupe!

To compare sizes, following is a picture of the WHITE STAR Flat Badge (old style) next to the 2-1/2" SLK badge that comes on the C204. The newer style, current production WHITE STAR Flat Badge has a deeper, 3D appearance shown in the first picture in this post.





The picture above shows the mount and lock, used without alteration from the original upright sedan star. This ensures that your replacement flat badge will lock in the hood, just like your upright star. (Not like other flat badges that use funky screw posts with washers and wing nuts that take time to adjust.)

It takes just seconds to remove your original upright ornament and replace it with either the WHITE STAR Flat Badge or the AMG Flat Badge. Installation on the coupe is exactly the same as on the W204 sedans...



Each badge is autographed and serial numbered. Serial numbers are assigned in the order payment is received.

There currently are 525 serial-numbered WHITE STAR Flat Badges in circulation worldwide. There are just 75 AMG Flat Badges on the planet.

People continue to ask whether I have my badges "in stock." I manufacture 10 at a time, and make a trip to the dealer for parts when I have just a couple badges left.

So I am generally never caught without badges for sale. This allows me to process and ship orders within 24 hours (sometimes sooner) as I promise.

I continue to get questions about whether I can create multiple color replacements for the blue Laurel Wreath in my badges. It's been a while since I explained this -- or it wasn't clear -- so here goes...

To accomodate the special White Star or AMG insert in my badges, I remove the upright star and mill away the mount for it -- the area inside the Blue Laurel Wreath surroud. That's all. The blue Laurel Wreath surround that comes from the factory is not touched.

Hence, I cannot change the color of the Laurel Wreath, since there is no need to do so. Nor am I equipped (with parts or silk screen skills) to replace the surround with another ring of a different color.

Hopefully this picture will explain it fully...

People continue to ask how "difficult" these badges are to install. It's quite easy... In fact you will spend more time opening the driver's side door, bending down to trip the hood release below the dash, and opening the hood than you will in swapping the factory upright for either of my badges.

It's OK, though, here is review of the procedure in picture form...

Should you want to order one of my badges for the holidays (as a gift for yourself or someone else), I suggest that you contact me so that your order can be placed no later than Monday, Dec. 17. This will ensure that your package is mailled on the 18th for delivery by Dec. 22.

I mail all my badges using USPS Priority Mail, in a Small Flat Rate Box, with delivery in 2-3 business days.

Each year, someone always wants to place an order at the last minute and demand overnight delivery. I can't accomodate these, as I may be travelling and out of touch after Dec. 22.

So, if you want a badge before Christmas, please place your order sometime this coming week, please. Thanks.
