Star Service Prepaid Maintenance Plan Purchase Timing
Hi, considering leasing a C250 coupe with multimedia package and the leather package. Is the Star Service Prepaid Maintenance Plan worthwhile to get since dealer services are expensive? I was told I have to purchase the plan when I pick up vehicle or else I cannot get benefit from the residualization savings on the prepaid plan. Is that true? How late can I purchase the plan without losing money? thanks for any advices!

I put the prepaid maintenance on a credit card when i bought the car so I have no residualized savings that way... but, if you do the math, based on keeping the car up to date with the Mercedes recommended maintenance interval, you save about $300 over three years (I leased the car).

I got the tire and rim insurance. I put that on the lease and residualized that instead. Probably not a real good reason for either. I was just trying to keep my payment at a certain level. Putting the prepaid maint. in the lease bumped it up above that level. Sorry i don't have a better answer!!

I did it with my lease and residualized it for my 24 month lease it came to only $9/month... No brainer if you ask me... $216 and will cover my first two services (A+B). Considering service A alone runs about $375 list at my local dealer, and ~$575 for service B - Do I need to say anything else?
