Question Accelerator pedal question

Hi everyone!

I picked up my C350 Coupe a few days ago and am moving up (way up) from my old Buick Century. Needless to say...LOVE IT!!

I did notice something about the car and wanted to see if this is normal on German cars, or if it's because I have the dynamic handling package.

Anyways, on my old Buick I'd barely touch the pedal and the car would start rolling (slowly, but it goes) and when you're in bumper to bumper traffic, leaving my foot off the accelerator and letting the car just roll through traffic felt very smooth. In the Merc, I find that I have to press the pedal a bit harder before it gets going and that when I'm going at 25 km/h or slower there this slight kickback and the car slows down a lot quicker without even touching the breaks. I'm not sure if this is just the car shifting down gears or if it's just park of the sports package? Hopefully it's not a mechanical issue but the sooner I know the better.

Thanks!

Are you in sport mode? Car might be downshifting to give you better acceleration. See if there is a difference in a economy mode.

Thanks for the quick response!

I had thought that at first too but it's not the case. I triple checked that I was not in sport mode.

It's just a trait of German cars ufortunately. Their gas pedals tend to be much "heavier" than most Domestics and Jap cars. It takes some getting used to, but after a week or two of driving, you will be fine with it, get into a domestic, and peel out accidentally everywhere you go! Ask me how I know....lol
