Tires size

I am getting summer tires set for my coupe and would like to get wider set but don't replace stock 17 amg inch rims since I like their look. Any suggestion on size, can I go 265/45 wide on rear and 245/40 on front? Any other suggestion?

You really shouldn't go wider than 255 in the back and 235 in the front on stock rims. You're going to be too tall or too short on the diameters if you go 255/35R17 (very uncommon size) and 235/40R17 (not uncommon). Why don't you just get grippier tires in stock size? You may run into a lot of other problems if you try to oversize the tire on too narrow a rim.

Extra 10mm ussually shouldn't cause any issues. As opposite, problems starts when you go wider rims. I normally do bit wider for summer set and stock or less wider for winter. I am just not sure in this particular car.
