Ambient Lighting on coupe

I noticed that my 250 coupe does not have the lighting above the interior door pulls as well the area where you pull to close the door from the inside.

Sedans have this on all 4 doors.

The dials to close the HVAC vents are not backlit either.

Also, the outside mirrors don't have the downward facing lights that turn on when you unlock the car.

Is this a 250 thing or did MB cheap out on all coupes?

Those were items I really liked about the 204's. Kind of disappointing.

Yeah, this is a coupe thing (not sure about C63 ///AMG), and you can't even order it as an option - bummer (at least not in MBUSA). We also don't have footwell lights, which is ridiculous. I guess its just MB trying to recover cost of the panoramic roof being standard on coupes...

Pano roof only standard for you guys over there. In Australia it's a damn expensive option!

Correct Blinks, to add for the other guys it comes bundled in a package called the 'Vision Package' which then also includes all the ambient lighting goodies talked about above which people are missing.

I can understand where people are coming from not being happy without the ambient lighting, it adds a definite touch of class to the interior and it's also found in lesser brand cheaper cars too like my current model Mazda 3 sedan.

I guess that just verifies that MBUSA has sacrificed the interior cabin illumination for a pano-roof standard in USA. But what also stinks, is that to my knowledge, we can't even get interior illumination as an option either, which is B.S.!
