Broken driver's side tail light
New C250 coupe owner here. I had the car for about a month and I love it. Today I was showing my new car to my cousin and I noticed that my tail light cover was broken and has a hole (light still works though). I have no idea when or how it could of happened as it's very hard to see it. I doubt that someone would damage a brand new benz like that. And also by the shape of the hole I believe that most likely it could of been a debris or rock on the road.
I'm new with Mercedes so I don't know what is the process to fix a minor damage on a lease. I know they would charge me an arm and leg so I would like to get suggestions. Reporting it to insurance is out of the question for obvious reasons.
Questions
Can I buy the taillight (OEM) myself and DIY? or buy the part and let the dealer do the labor?
Or should I just go pay up whatever the dealer would charge me?
I'm a benz and lease newbie so please excuse my ignorance.
Here is a pic of the damage

That is wierd damage. SOmeone must have back into you while you weren't around.
You can do this replacement yourself though. I think there is around 4 nuts to remove the lamp assembly. Just peel back the trunk liner in that corner and you will see the nuts.
I wouldn't take it in or make an insurance claim. You can do this yourself.
I bet the lamp runs $250 or more though from a dealer. I have alot of trouble finding Benz parts in the scrapyards.
