ECM software update
Service Campaign 2012100002 OCT12 - 2013 172, 204 with 271.8 engine, engine control module (ECM) requires software update. Approximately 13,364 vehicles affected, have dealer VMI to see if your VIN/vehicle is included.

Bulletin does not go into detail other than: “Engine Control Module Software may not meet current specifications in the subject vehicles.”
Only way to confirm if your vehicle is included is to check with any MB dealer – have VIN handy, they will pull up VMI (vehicle master inquiry) listing any/all outstanding Service Campaigns and Recalls.
