Strong gasoline odor in the oil :( C250 coupe
Hey guys,
I was checking the oil level in my garage this afternoon when I found out that the dipstick has a strong odor of gasoline . The oil is M1 0w40 and it has about 2500 miles on it (4400 km). I also noticed that it was pretty dark and feels a little bit more watery than usually. My father is a big smoker and he also noticed the odor.... I know there's a bulletin about the emission of the vehicle, but I just didn't have time to go to make it done. What do you think of it....another misfortune due to the new DI design? I had a C300 V6 before the C250...I'm starting to think that the switch was a bad choice.....
Any thoughts? Fuel pump issue? Valve issue? Cold temperature? DI? M271?
I took a sample to send to Blackstone to check the oil...but I think I'll pay a little visit to the dealer tomorrow morning...to make them smell a new kind of coffee!
Thanks!!

Hi guys,
I have some news! I flushed the old oil and I took a sample after 1000km. Blackstone sent me the result with 2,5% fuel in oil after only 1000km....I know I should have sent the oil before the flush.... anyway the dealer did a free oil change and will test the car at the next service (2000km) if there's still gas in the oil tank.
I found a little bit annoying that I drove about 6000km with X% of gas in the oil. Hopefully, I didn't hurt the car...but there's still an issue with it!
Will keep you posted about what they found after the service

Just went out of the service...after 3 recalls, a new high pressure fuel pump, etc....There's still gasoline in the oil. The dealer sent the problem to Mercedes in germany. Hopefully, they will help my little coupe getting back in good health

I am wondering @Rubi1999 how did you sort out your issue. It seems to be just like mine.

You need a new PCV hose/valve which is located under the intake manifold. Surprised the dealers tackle all the high expensive jobs, but not the problem itself.
They replace cam adjusters and all , without addressing the issue why they go bad due to fuel contamination which degrades the oil.
Happened to me too, lucky i caught it. PCV was not only blocked, but also had a crack in the hose itself on the intake side, which let some boost out .
Symptoms were : Higher than usual oil level, strong smell of gas, more chain rattle noise, and if your hose cracked too, a bit less performance.

Senor Ajou,
I also have the C250 coupe (Iridium).
Sure is a beautiful little car.
Would you please indicate at what odometer reading you first noticed the blue smoke on startup.
all the best from our left coast,
