Hi all,


I tried removing the oem diffuser today and ran into a little trouble. I'm unsure what driver or perhaps rivet holds onto the diffuser on both ends. Any help? Thanks.

Hey there. I had the same trouble as you and could not figure out what driver head it was either.

What I did though (recommended by others who also did this in order to remove the diffuser), was to use a knife and slice through the plastic piece surrounding that rivot. Basicallty make a cut like this / O \ so the rivot can be removed.

Also, there will be hooks in the center portion of the diffuser. You have to unhook it in order to remove the diffuser. Use a flashlight and you will see.

Did you also order the heat shield? Is it even needed? Thanks.

Heat shield for what? Didn't buy anything, so doubt it's needed. The temp from the exhaust isn't going to get so hot that it'll going to burn your bumper...

I was just wondering because I've seen two different cars with this c63 diffuser mod and one had a heat shield while the other didnt. thanks.
