bulbs

I know there are numerous threads about bulbs, but none fit my situation...

I have the 2013 c250 coupe and hate the fact that when I unlock the car, the parking lights shine yellow. So I want to replace them. I also want to replace the low beams.

Here's what I'm looking to do: The driving lights in the bumper, where a traditional fog light would be, produce a light that is white with a hint of blue. I want to match that color in the driving and low beam lights.

What I've tried so far that was not to my liking: Silverstar ZXE h7 low beams. The light was white, but there was no blue.

Can someone recommend some bulbs to me. I hate having to return bulbs that are not what I'm looking for.

Mike

I installed the new Momo Corse bulbs for my lowbeams and they look great with the LED strips.
I found these on AMAZON and I am ready to order them. OSRAM is top quality.

You linked the ozram cool blue bulbs but you mention the momo course bulbs which you didnt link. whats the difference and which matches the blue of the running lights best? also... any recommendations for parking lights as these are the yellowest and most in need of replacement.

I have the Momo Corse and I am happy with them, but I think the Osrams will have more of the blue tint you are looking for. I desperately want to replace the running lights but haven't been able to get my fat fingers in there. Still working on it.

My MB dealer gave me some blue bulbs for the running light and they match the fog lights very well ... to remove the bulbs pull on the 2 wires in a straight line they will pop right out .

Changing bulbs does not void a warranty...not even on a lease. I don't understand your dealer.

If a higher wattage bulb is used- it will create excessive heat and can cause damage to the wiring harness. The harness runs all the way through the car to the SAM in the trunk. They told me IF there is any damage resulting from the modification- the $1500 harness and the labor (4-5 hrs at $100 p/hr) would not be covered by warranty and they would Black Flag my VIN in the system.
So...You are correct that they can't void my warranty from switching bulbs, but they can void my electrical warranty due to any damage resulting from the non-OEM/Recommended part. It depends on the dealership- this one was NOT MOD-Friendly.

bulbs

I eventually bought a set of SilverStar 2825 bulbs to replace the parking lights. They are whiter than the stock clear bulbs but are not what I'm looking for. I want a bulb that will produce light that matches the daytime running lights (the bluish lights that are in the bumper where fog lights usually are).

Can someone tell me which bulbs to buy?

That's funny. I would have a lawyer all over his ***, as well as the dealer's *** if they ever voided my warranty for replacing a bulb. They would have to prove that what you did solely damaged the electrical system.

Unhappy Lack of info

Since no one has responded to my information request, does this mean that no one knows or that there are no bulbs made that fit the application I desire?

Yeah, I guess that no one knows....

In case you didn't notice, others did respond. If that is not to your liking, I guess you are out of luck.

Ok my bad. I missed the replies and the question. I'll look at ebay and see what I can find. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sorry. I thought I pointed you in the right direction with the Osrams for the low beams but missed the running lights. I tried to remove mine and couldn't get my meat nugget fingers in there to remove them. The trick is the bulbs are very noticeable and if you switch to a blueish bulb to get the desired look- you will see the blue bulbs sticking out like a sore thumb when the lights are off. You might want to contact Mike at AZNOptics to see what he recommends. I considered an LED bulb but wanted to make sure it would have a similar light dispersement pattern to the halogen bulb. The yellow lights still drive me nuts to I guess I need to look into this again.

I remember back in the day talking to someone about stealth bulbs. maybe this is what I need. A blue bulb that gets a light coat of silver. I have clear side markers with stealth orange bulbs. maybe a blue bulb is out there. If not why not make a set? am I barking up the wrong tree?

I contacted Mike at AZNoptics and he said he has a new type of LED coming out in the next few weeks that would be great in this application. They are 360-degree shine LEDs that will not throw error codes. His quality is top-notch so I'm willing to wait.
