2013 Mercedes 250C Coupe
17inch verses 18 inch rims
Got a 2013 C250 coupe with factory 17 inch rims. Does it make sense to upgrade to 18 inch rims? I live and drive mostly in NYC which got lousy roads. What are the pros and cons of changing to 18. If I decide to buy 18 inch (depends on your answers) do I also have to buy new tire pressure monitors? Most people I talked to told me to stick with the 17 inch cause it got more air in the tires and is better to drive on city streets. Thanks for answering my question.

I read somewhere here that someone ended up with a couple of bent rims from potholes with his 18 inchers. Personally I have the 18" rims and I find myself being really careful when encountering potholes. In the winter I plan on running 17" with winter tires because of the extra saidewall that gives me! As for the TPM sensors, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're in the valves so as long as you move the valeve stems to your new rims, you should be ok with reusing them. Personally, if I had the 17 inch rims, I'd stick with them.

I am in NJ, time to time I am driving to the city. Yes it is horrible roads there, especially since cheapo Bloomberg is in command Brooklyn is like driving on war zone roads, I am scared for my Jeep suspension and would not drive there on MB
Again, rims could be 18. What is important for you to do not buy skinny tires. Means sidewall should be larger numbers, also don't pressure them a lot.
