This doesn't happen very often. Maybe once a week.

Sometimes when I am in sports mode and put my foot all the way down on the gas, the car will make an increasing-in-pitch whining sound for about 3 seconds.
The sound starts as a whine, then gets high pitched. The sound seems to be coming from the front of the car. I was thinking it was the turbo. I'm not too worried because it rarely happens, but I am still curious as to what makes that sound.
It also happens when I am using the paddle shifters to change gears. =

It sounds kind of cool too, in case that information is relevant.

I think its the turbo.

That's what I thought. Since it rarely happens, I'm guessing it's not a big issue?

hmm... stock you can't really hear the turbo, not even for a second. I sometimes hear a whine which I believe is coming from the transmission. But its not only for 3 seconds; when I am in sport mode, and I manually shift into 2nd and keep it there, I can hear it whine.

That's where I'm confused. It's about 3 seconds because that's how long it takes before I switch the gear, I think. It's normally only in the first gear when I'm in sport and normally when I'm using the paddle shifters.
