Starting Issue

Hello everyone,

I'm the proud owner of a 2014 C250 black on black coupe sport. I'm extremely happy with my car only one thing that bothers me. When I go to start (keyless-go) my car from time to time it will take a long time to fire up. The engine seems to crank over multiple times before it actually starts. Has anyone else experienced this issue I'm having? The car is only 1.5 weeks old with 105 miles on it.

hey man, my car is actually going through the same issue, and they stated at first there was something wrong with the pipes (it was cracked) they replaced it and still was doing the same thing. the dealer said that they are ordering parts from Germany to fix it, but i still need to take it. my car is under 50k so im not sure if that is the reason for my car to be under warranty?. but yeah my car keeps cranking multiple times and then it starts, embarrassing for a benz

I have the same car (2014 C250 coupe sport about 350 miles on it) - What I have got myself in the habit of is something a little different ...

-Unlock the car and get in
-Press the keyless go (start button once with no foot on brake) --> this activates key position 1 so your electrics fire up and the steering wheel comes down, etc
-Buckle up
-As soon as the wheel comes down I put my foot on the brake pedal and press the keyless go (start button) once more and the engine fires right up.

If I just get in the car and put my foot on the brake and press "start" it does fire up without hesitation but it's also doing a few more things so give the above a try and see if it helps. I kind of like it sequentially. You can also do the reverse when shutting it down...one press of the start button kills the engine (electrics stay on unless you open the door), second press kills the electrics.

Well I finally took in my car to the dealer last Wednesday and got a call on Friday, apprently my car has a bad fuel pump. All I can do now is sit and wait to get the car back.

Hzkasbarian - I totally agree with you, it's extremely embarrassing for a benz. When I would start my car in front of people they would look at me with a funny face. lol Either way good luck on getting your issue fixed.

djprov431 - That's exactly how I would start my 2003 Ford truck with 142,000 miles on it. It does help to start the car better this way but we are talking about a 2014 with less than 200 miles on it, I shouldn't have to do this.
