Towing a small trailer with C250

Does anyone here have any experience with or know if I am able to tow a small 1,500 pound trailer with my 2013 C250 coupe? (1,500 pounds is the total weight of the trailer loaded up)

Thank you for the help

That's a good question because I would like to get a small hitch for a bike rack. The only one I've found that might work is from Uhaul. 200 bucks and it says 1500 lbs capacity. Take a look. Go to Uhaul.com and search for Part number: UHI25925. Let me know what you think.

That is the hitch I intend to buy. My question is can my car tow 1,500 lbs (also, would adding the hitch affect my warranty?)

It doesn't look like we should based on the manual. Here's a direct quote from page 309.

Trailer load/noseweight
Your Mercedes-Benz has been designed
primarily to carry passengers and their
luggage. Mercedes-Benz does not
recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle.

I suppose you can, but I'm sure if it came down to a warranty issue, you might have a hard time getting anything done if your problems have anything to do with the drive train. If they don't sell a trailer hitch as an accessory, then you probably shouldn't tow with one. A hitch for a bike holder might be ok but they could probably say you did so something to the car by installing aftermarket parts. Kinda frustrating. I suppose a letter or call to Mercedes may clarify this. I'll give them a call myself and see what they say. I guess I'll start with my dealer.

I'll let you know what my people say. I'm in NORCAL.

You can retrofit a Mercedes tow hitch, but I think that you will find the cost is prohibitive to most people. In part, it requires a new diffuser, trailer hitch frame to be attached to body, wiring, and coding to recognize the hitch.

I do not know of any off brand trailer hitched that would work that preserves the original body work
