c230 panoramic sunroof fix?
Hi,
Just bought a used c230. It's a 2005. So far, I really love it. The sunroof broke while I was test driving it. The dealer gave me a very good price because of this, and I liked the car enough that I decided to buy it and live without a functioning sunroof (first world problem). It doesn't open as of now At first, it was rattling and squeaking and the noise was really annoying. I was able to DIY get rid of the noise completely by shoving a piece of loose cotton between the sun shade and the sunroof window. I have been told that the only way to fix the sunroof involves replacing the entire piece, and the part alone is $3000 before any labor. This is not worth it to me, especially now that I was able to get the noise to stop. Has anyone experimented with their broken sunroof and found an easy fix that didn't involve replacing the whole sunroof?
