2016 C Coupe
I am doing research on the new C Coupe (2016) and the new E Coupe (2017).
For the C Coupe, I saw a few heavily disguised spy shots online but hard to make out the shape.
For the E Coupe, I read that it will be bigger than the current model so I am no longer interested.
I would imagine that like the C sedans, the C Coupes will be made in US. Do you see any information online with its engine choices, interior, etc?
I can tell you that the US W204 Coupes were made in Germany while the sedans were assembled in many countries.
Also the C-coupe and E-coupe were both made on the C-class platform/chassis.
On the AMG boards (W205 C63) there's plenty of current information on the new coupe with some pics of only a partially camouflaged example, it definitely appears to be a scaled down S Coupe just like the W205 is a scaled down S Sedan.
Looks like it's going to be a great looker and only slighter larger than the current C204, it'll also retain the kink up to the rear quarter glass panel and the rear view mirrors will be door mounted as per S Class Coupe, interior will be same as per W205 sedan, except it should look even nicer due to the elongated door trims etc.
With regards to production, I'm not sure about U.S folk, but here in Australia we're expecting them to be supplied from German plants, all AMG variants will definitely come from Germany, the W205 sedan however for Australia is currently being supplied from South Africa East London plant.
I bought my 2004 CLK320 new 11 years ago. The car is well maintained and it drives great; even after 190K miles. My 2 close friends have a w204 (2010 C Class) and a r172 (2014 SLK Class). I rode on these cars often and their ride qualities never impressed me. I meant that the ride qualities of these cars were good but not better than my 11 years old CLK.
One day my friend went in for service and got a w205 (2015 C300) as a courtesy car. I rode on it and I was truly impressed with the ride. I did not drive the car and the ride was about 2 hours, highway and city combined.

......it would be difficult - my opinion here - to improve on the current C250 coupe in the looks department...............
We've all heard the expression 'shooting fish in a barrel', right?
That pretty much describes this sailor when I first saw my current coupe.
Sure, I used CPO and all the finance perks (my usual sales resistance vanished).
Great car. Nice (useful) forum.

Interesting...especially the W205 impression.
The ride quality of the 204 series (especially the C204 coupe) is firmer than the previous 203 series because the 204 has been purposely made to be more dynamic, ie. better handling which it does hands down compared to the older 203 and also have much sharper steering, having said that the ride quality is still streets ahead of most other cars in the same category, those previous models you mention had very supple/comfortable ride characteristics but are not renowned at all for their handling, they lean and roll quite badly and the steering is quite average, it's an individual choice I'd take my C204 over any previous C class and even over the new W205 sedan any day in this regard, it combines a very good level of ride quality with outstanding handling and steering feel and sharpness.
If you want to research it you should find MB articles which talk about this and the steering improvements as well, especially on the C204 coupe variant which was brought up another level again compared to the W204 sedan.
With each new MB model release they are becoming more and more dynamic , this is evidenced with the ever closing gap in this regard with rivals such as BMW

With regards to the new W205 sedan I had one on loan for 3 weeks and drove it extensively and my overall impression was not as great as I thought it would be.
Again the sedans lack the chassis dynamics of the newer coupes and handling, although very good in the 205 sedan it was no where near as sharp as my 204 coupe, ride was a little softer and definitely quieter within the cabin, the latter attribute I really liked.
Also I found a lot not to be desired, bearing in mind this was a brand new 205 it had numerous interior rattles and squeaks, ticking noises outside the vehicle and flimsy rattly door trims - now I don't know if this is attributable to origin (W205 sedans supplied to Australia are from the East London South Africa plant) or not, I'm hoping German plant produced examples are better.
I documented this in another thread in the AMG forums where some people are having similar issues with their U.S. assembled brand new W205 C63's, here in Australia we'll get our AMG's from Germany.
The next purchase I'm interested in is the new upcoming C205 C63 coupe and I'll probably wait till the mid life update so initial teething probs we're seeing with the initial production batch of the W205 get sorted out.
As for the tablet info display on the W205 that is definitely carrying over to the coupe variants and will be a mainstay of the 205 series, maybe they'll change to something different in the mid life update but I doubt it.
As for the new 205 variants, there'll be the obvious sedan, estate (wagon) coupe and a convertible as per previous 203 series but missing from the 204 series, don't think MB are ever doing another sport hatch in this category, they've left hatches to the A class range.
All in all plenty of choice and there's plenty to choose from the completion as well
