Courtesy Door Lights

I've noticed that the door courtesy lamps don't light up on my 2012 C250 Coupe whether the car is running or when the ignition key is removed (door open). Do these lenses actually light up? Both doors don't work... Thanks for any advise.

Ok, it looks like my car doesn't have the interior illumination package. So my next question is, is it possible to wire for new door courtesy lights or is the wiring in place already? I guess I'll have to pop off one of the lenses...

This is weird... I removed the lenses, which contained lamps already installed however; no wiring was present. The dealership confirmed that my car does not have that option so I'm debating whether it's worth running cables. I must admit that MB dropped the ball on this one.

I was hoping that someone would have a tutorial on this already.

You'd basically run a wire tap to your footwell lights. Those are already tied and triggered off your door opening and closing.

Would you happen to have a color coded schematic?
