2015 Mercedes C250 Coupe HID install

I installed HIDs on my C250 that used to have regular halogens. For the benefit of everyone, I wanted to provide some basic information.

I actually first ordered from XenonDepot. However, my experience was less than satisfactory. Customer service has no solid information about the products. They did not inform me correctly of which products I needed and so all I got was the HID kit. It appears it comes standard with a relay harness and no CANBUS, which I need. It also did not come with the brackets to hold the HID bulb. I returned everything I ordered instead of ordering the missing parts at a cost of 10% restocking fee plus expensive return shipping ($40) to Canada. I would stay away from them if I were you but it's just my experience and YMMV.

Why I returned is because I found The Retrofit Source. Amazing service and knowledge. Everything I needed I was able to pick right from the website and add to cart. I chatted with Tech Support and they told me exactly what I needed and what I did not - ballast, canbus, ignitor and bulb. I ordered and the package arrived in 2 days.

The best part - I saw that some people were talking online about a clean install where all the parts were installed within the headlight console, needing no drilling of the dust cover and no need to mount the ballast. With my car, this is indeed possible and I was able to, in 2 hours, install HIDs on both sides. The driver side was harder due to less room but I was able to install without removing the wheel, etc.

Hope all of you have the same or a better experience.

Thanks,
AJ

And at competitive pricing.

Btw, yes the kit is slim. Enough to fit in the housing, but not advisable as it's a sealed area and the canbus cancellers should be giving space to breath and cool down.

So you recommend that I move the Canbus and ballasts out?

Yes. I did come across AZN but I felt comfortable ordering from the TRS with a physical address and some more details on the products. I also got a lot of info on chat through them.

I did order LEDs to replace my parking lights but I'm still waiting for them. I haven't received a shipping notice or a tracking number. Perhaps minor details but it's makes the difference for me.

Btw, I'm an IT consultant by day. If you need any help with your website, I would like to be considered. VirtusSolutions.com

Thanks for you feedback.

35W might be ok as it doesn't burn as hot, but you'll want to monitor it if you want to tuck everything inside. If the kit starts overheating, you'll want to pull it out so you get some airflow to draw away the generated heat.
