$1,140 to replace engine air filter? Got to be kidding me...
Brought my 2013 c250 to the dealer today for A service. While there, they gave me a list of recommended things I'll need to do eventually.
Among them was to replace the engine air filter for the princely sum of $1,140. Surely that must be a typo. Right...? I can buy the part for like $25, and by all accounts it might take me 20 minutes to do it myself.
Lest you think I'm joking, here's a scan of their recommendations:
...this is from RBM of Atlanta.

...if at all possible:
I. Get a second M-B dealer's quote.
2. Ask your circle of friends, co-workers, relatives and business associates for an indy recommendation.........
I was rather startled that a dealership would pull this sort o thing.
best, ez

ATLbenz13, sorry for the typo. The cost for parts and labor is $114. This is a genuine / OEM filter with a factory warranty. Not sure what kind of quality or warranty comes with non-OEM parts.

I think the filter is around $40 oem. Yes it should only take about 20 minutes or less to do it yourself. Very easy. Filter is on top right of engine bay. I believe it's a few torx screws to remove.

I had an issue a while back with being run off the road and having two tires blow and rims damaged...had those 2 tires replaced and alignment done, not surprising that one of the other 2 (older) tires has uneven wear compared to the others.
