Hey guys,

I was looking around my car the other day, and I saw a box in the trunk with some heavy duty wiring going to it. Is it a remote battery, amp, what?

I'm looking into putting a sub in the trunk, and if that is a power lead from the battery, that's one less thing I need to run to the front of the car, which would be amazing.

If it helps, I have the HK sound system in the car. The salesman told me there is a sub in the trunk, which is why I was looking around, and I didn't see any subs back there.

Thats the battery.. And your sub is the small speaker in the rear window... Sounds fine to me, but if you want to shake the windows in the cars next to you, you'll need more.....

So do I have two batteries, because there is also a battery under the hood?

My C350 has two batteries. I believe it's to handle the accessories when in economy mode.

Very cool. I can run power from that battery in the trunk then.

I pulled the cover off today, and sure enough, it's a small battery, about the size found on a riding lawn mower.
