any 18” tires had a blowout

hi there I’m trying to gather info on wheather of not 18” rimed tires are less prone to blowouts with potholes etc. several of the threads mention 18” tires as opposed to 19” tires are more sturdy and since they have more sidewall are much less prone to catastrophic failure. Has this been your experience?

I recently blew out an 18", if the 19" fit with your set up, i'd go with them... it'll also be smoother ride.

the 19's would have a shorter sidewall, making the ride harsher...I am not saying it doesn't look better, just the ride comfort quality will go down

He's talking about tire sizes being 18" and 19", not rims. So a 19" tire would have a larger side wall.

You've got it around the wrong way there .

To achieve the same /similar rolling radius on 19's requires a slimmer profile .

Definitely 19 are more vulnerable to poor road surface than 18 .
