I am new to this forum and my mechanic told me to do some research on the forums for this rare case.
I have a 2013 C250 Sport. I bought it only a year ago with 79k miles. It has about 105k miles now. I have had it inspected and its maintenance oil changes.
Yesterday I was driving on the highway and smoke was coming out of the back of the car and I lost my brakes. Luckily I was able to safely stop the car off the side of the road downshifting with paddles. I brought my car to a European specialist shop and they found that the Pressure Pump had completely snapped off from the engine at the bolts causing a crack in the engine where the oil is just pouring out. Naturally losing my brakes as well. PLEASE SEE PICTURES.
Has anyone had this problem before? They said I need to replace the engine. Has there been any recall for this? I don't have an extended warranty. Help please!
I would contact Mercedes USA. Even though you're out of warranty they can elect to assist you as this is a major safety issue. Glad you're ok.
thank you, my insurance company is actually coming to inspect it as a claim. Fingers crossed, but I will reach out to Mercedes otherwise, as my mechanic suggested as well.
