Hello everyone. today is 2021 and now I want to buy the c350 (2012-2014)
Can someone tell me is this engine that bad?
After 6-7 years can someone tell me the main problems about this car, about this engine.
what are the major and minor problems of it.
and is it BETTER than c250. ( I know c350 is faster, but is it DURABLE?)
Please help me to solve this problem.
Ohh and also the coupe and sedan headlights and backlights are the same size?

P.S sorry for my ENGLISH. It's not national...

Go for a 2014 and you'll be fine.

Do NOT buy a C250 if you are concerned with durability.

Thx!!!
Finally I got the answer I needed.
I love speed but 270HP is enough for me.
I always prefer stock than tuned...
so thank you for the answer <3

We agree on stock versus tuned.

BUT - for the last seven years my (somewhat) new wife has driven my drop dead gorgeous C250 coupe..................

During those 7 years only one(1) issue surfaced..........the steering wheel locking pin - intermittently - would fail to unlock.
Turns out this was a known weak spot - and the award-winning dealership cut me a good deal on replacement cost.

Good luck with the V-6 in your pending purchase.

Get the C350!
I got my C350 coupe in December and have not looked back at the C250 coupe I dumped.
The 250 had so many issues that I was glad to see it go:
60K timing chain tensioner went. MB repaired it as it was a design flaw that almost became a recall.
80K - Head Gasket went. MB warranted it as a faulty part from the 60K rebuild.
90K - Rear main seal, top of oil pan and oil level sensor all leaking.
92K - intermittent problems with ESL. Got stranded once. Dealer unable to diagnose as it started after being towed.
96K - got rid of it as it also needed, rear tires, rear breaks, front wheel barrings, an axel boot, several interior trim pieces and a directional stalk because it would sometimes "Stick" when turning left. That's the official MB diagnose term.

Additionally the 250 was so under powered that the car used hesitate before getting going. I'd have to get RPM above 4K to feel the pull. The C350 is butter smooth. Push the pedal and it goes fast. I love the additional 101 HP. I also love the fact that the car came with a lot of extras, lighting package, blind spot monitoring, keyless-go, full leather package. I wish that back in 2014 when the car was born it had the command system with nav and backup camera. Why someone would load up a car and choose the audio 20 is beyond me. At least it has the Harmon-Kardon logic 7 system.

I say go for the C350! you won't be disappointed.

C350, avoid C250
I’ll start out with the negative of the C350, I bought it from Brooklands and before they could actually give it to me the engine went in a service test. That one was a diesel. After speaking to many mechanics about the strength of that engine they all agreed that car had been abused because the V6 petrol and diesel engines are solid.
So I decided to go and get a C250 1.8L rather than wait for a good C350 petrol to show up, to be honest it’s been two years and one still hasn’t.
It’s the best car I’ve owned, but also the worst car I’ve owned. Shortly after buying it second hand the ECU went, but Mercedes scanners can’t read that the ECU has gone in that car straight away because it’s basically the only model that uses that ECU and they’re useless, it’s a reason not to try and tune them. Spent a lot figuring out it was the ECU, the place I bought it from paid for the part but nothing else. Then I had issues with the brakes and battery even though not long before they were in very good condition.
Currently I’m still waiting for my car to come back after last year the timing-chain broke without any warning whatsoever. No warning light, no diesel sound from the engines, no loss of power, it just went.
I love the look of the C250 but the reality is if I’d bought something else I’d have been able to afford a much better Mercedes model by now, and when I get the car back I’ll need to keep it for another 2 years at least to make it worth my time having spent so much on it.
Get the V6 like any mechanic will tell you, avoid the 4 pot!!

My 2012 C350 is the best car I’ve ever owned. At 9 years old and 90,000 miles it is solid, reliable and economical, 36 mpg on the freeway. It has great acceleration, and has a great ride. At 90 mph feels like 60. The 350 engine is a solid V6. I don’t think I would want the turbo C300 or C400.

Negatives:

The MB Tex seats stink. Early on the vinyl started to separate/peal on the seat bottom at the seam.

Occasionally the Command system acts up. Push “5” and it responds as if you pressed “2.” Push NAVI and it responds as if you pressed TEL. Strangely, I figured out if you hit the trim upper right to the COMMAND it corrects the problem. It may be a heat thing.
