Water leaks under carpet

Hi.
When I removed front drivers and passenger carpet I noticed rust and water on drivers side floor. Passenger side is dry and nice.
Some time I was driving without carpet trying to pinpoint where the leak is.

What I tried:
1. Cleaned all three drain holes on plastic part under windshield. Made sure that the water was pouring out from the bottom of a car when I poured it on windshield.
2. Poured water from a hose onto the windshield and drivers door.
3. Poured with pressure water the whole car, especially front part - door, windshield, sill.
4. I was in workshop where they also couldn't determine where the leak is. They offered to disassemble something under the hood and clean some drains, but it seems that they are not sure.

None of this worked, the car was completely dry inside during all experiments.
But after rainy day I found water on the floor again.

Any ideas?
Also note, that my car doesn't have sunroof
and it has original windshield (production year same as others).

Alex, some of the drains from the scuttle area end up in plastic tubes behind the rear part of each front wheel arch plastic liner. When I had a similar problem I made sure these were cleared out. They have one-way end pieces that get clogged by debris from leaves/bugs. Removing the plastic liner involves removing the front wheel and carefully removing several plastic clips and a few nuts. Even if it doesn't fix your problem you will have eliminated another possibility. It will also give you a good view around the base of the firewall/floor area to see if anything else is amiss. Good luck.

hello,

this happened to me when I bought my c250 coupe, it ended up being the windshield. The seal eventually goes bad and leaks.

I had a new MB windshield put on through insurance and the dealership technician said the seal was completely gone. You could actually push up on the windshield and it would move.

I tried cleaning all the drains and everything but nothing worked until I had the windshield replaced. It’s been over a year and no leaks or water inside anymore.

I finally found where the leak is.
I'll upload video what I found. I'm sorry that comments will be in Russian, but i guess everything will be clear anyway.
Now I need advice - what is this black thing, and why water leaking from it? Has anyone encountered this?
