Gotta see Lunar Blue...
So, after 11 years it was time to move out of my 2005 Z4 into something different. As I had already replaced (in 2013) my 2002 325 for an ATS, I still had my "BMW" drive; so, which rear drive coupe do I get? To my eyes, the 2017 C-300 coupe was so stunning inside and outside, that was the one...even though I didn't quite handle as well as the 428 (but close enough,) its style and luxury won me over.
Never had a dark car before (show too much dirt and stuff,) but this time I wanted one. When the C-300 first arrived at my nearby dealerships, the only on-lot colors to choose were either, white, black, or some shade of gray...and I just didn't want same-old, same-old, I wanted something a little different and sight unseen (other than MBUSA internet build,) I chose Lunar Blue (saddle brown) which had to be factory ordered from Germany. Until delivery (2 months later - yesterday,) let me tell you I did have some angst about the color choice because i didn't really know how it would look in real time.
Even though I really would like my C-300 coupe look a little different than all the gray, black and white coupes I expect to see here in West Palm Beach (BTW I think I've only seen one coupe on the road so far,) I've got to tell you that when seen in person, this color is one big knockout and was well worth waiting for. Not sure if a picture will do it justice as depending on the lighting conditions, the car appears to change colors from deep metallic blue to black, but i try to get one to post in a day or two.
Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that the ride, power and comfort are quite good, but I am surprised that MB couldn't do better in reducing the slightly jolting start-up when in Eco. I'd like to do Eco around town, but it looks as though Comfort will most likely be the drive mode. Of course, I'll go to Sport when the fun opportunities arise.

According to this auto painting site (http://www.expresspaint.com/automoti...-C-36p9536.htm), the blues may be one in the same. And from an MB forum, someone else asked the same question and the answer was: "The paint code 890 is the same for both Lunar Blue (in US) and Cavansite Blue." BTW, aside from liking the color (I may be the only one, though...LOL,) I'm fairly certain that I won't be seeing too many around

I saw a car with that dark blue a few years back at the dealer, and instantly thought "One day I'm gonna have a car with that color!"
My baby is getting paint sealant today, after driving the loaner car home, I can't wait to have her back... :-)

As you can see from my post, I got the color because I was hoping not to look like other 2017 C-300 coupes that may appear in my neighborhood. And, as you so aptly mention, it does look rather classy. As for the executive look, I think more so in the sedans; but in the coupe, just plain gorgeous. Although, I might say that a red interior certainly may add a little jazz, whereas the brown is class...IMHO.

The brown leather works nicely with that blue I have to agree.
I've always wanted a car with white leather though, so this is that one for me.
So far I love it, soo much better looking in person than in the pictures.
I guess we'll have to see how it ages though :-)

I dunno crap about taking photos, but here goes...
I notice that the contrast stiching doesn't really show in my pictures either, it's a lot more visible irl.
I was going for the classy look rather than really sporty, think it looks nice.

Very nice blue. Does it look black in night time?
In Canadian MB site, I do not see Lunar Blue and the only blue I see is Brilliant Blue Metallic. Probably not the same, not dark blue.

I think I've made comparisons between the c300 coupe and the ATS Lux before, but I'll do it again. Bottom line is that the coupe is luxury followed by performance and the ATS is performance followed by luxury. The ATS' drive (at least my 2013) as far as road holding and steering control go, is very much akin to the old BMW E46's (325i)--which after 2006 became less rode hugging (read softer suspension) in order to attract more customers. While the ATS will take a turn just about flat out, there definitely is a slight lean and a little less feel for the road with the coupe under similar circumstances. Nonetheless, the drive characteristics of the coupe, although somewhat softer than that of the ATS, are good enough to keep most folks happy. I'd say if you definitely are sure you want a "tighter" ride, giving up some of the "luxury feel," then go for the sport suspension.
