Registering music from an SD
I know hardly anyone here uses SD cards to play music in the coupe, but for those that do, or are thinking about it, but heard that it can't be done ...from folks on the C300 sedan forum...you can do it. The problem was that for cars made in the US (C300 sedan), MB disabled copying mp3 music from SDs to the register in order to avoid possible law suites, but does allow for copying from CDs. Anyway, as our copes are made in Germany where copying from SDs is legal, they apparently forgot turn off that function when the cars were shipped to the US. So, one can copy stuff transferred to an SD into the register. The only thing that I note to be different from playing directly from a SD is that there is no Playlist category, but all others are present. The lack of a playlist may be a function of my not entering certain instructions onto the SD...but I really don't know. I can live without Playlists as every thing else is functional.
