Cloudy paint

So someone who was backing out of a parking spot hit my car, my friend thought we could get the scratches and paint off by scrubbing however I think it only made it worse, so now when it dries up the paint is sort of cloudy and feels very matte, but when water is poured on it and it is wiped it goes back to normal somewhat.. can anybody help with this? or will I just have to take it to the body shop.

Sucks that someone hit your car. If you know who did, it's worthwhile to get their insurance info to pay for the paint repair. Now that it's been made worse by scrubbing, all bets are off. Looks like it's time to find a body shop and pay for the repair on your dime.

I would've tried a clay bar w/lube followed by a paint correction using compound and an orbital polisher. Since you don't have those items, it's probably best to have it professionally repaired. I'm guessing $300 and it will look as good as new. Good luck...

Machine Buffer and polish might take it out. Goto a detailer.
