C300 Valves always open

Hi all,

Checked the forum for answers but couldn't really find what I want since for AMG models(https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...-module-2.html)

During the cold days I noticed smoke coming out of my right exhaust only. My questions are:
  1. Does the left one ever open? Only at high RPMs and in S+ mode? What is the threshold for opening the left one, since S+ at low speeds doesn't seem to work.
  2. I do not have a button on the central console for the exhaust. Were there different exhaust for the C300? (December 2015). I am in Europe.
  3. Is there a way to leave both valves open all the time? That is not the ADR component from the thread above? Maybe blocking the valve physically.
Basically I love the sound when in S+, and I hate having smoke coming out of only one exhaust, so any tips appreciated.

Thanks!

C205 AMG
Hi,

I can see the smoke in both exhausts in C mode actually at cold weather as soon as started the engine.

NOT: I have a C180

I believe the US model C300 do not have valves in the exhaust like the C43/C63 Performance Exhaust option models. I do notice there is more visual use of the right exhaust pipe and think that it's due to the path of the exhaust flow. The right side muffler must be quicker flow at idle.

I'm curious if the Euro models offer a performance exhaust option for the 2.0T as that would be a nice upgrade if they included a button like the AMG models.
