Thumping sound dealer cannot fix
For the last 6 months my 2017 (bought new) coupe is making thumping sounds (coming from the back of the car) when taking off from standstill. The "thump" sounds like a spring releasing or something simillar and is driving me crazy. It appears right after car starts rolling but never befor I touch the gas. Been to the dealer several times but no fix.
Also noticed similar thump when crossing 50km/h ( 31mph) coming from the drivers footwell. It only happens once when I cross the 50km/h first time after car was resting for at least 30min. My W204 was making the same thump at crossing 50km/h but it was never thumping at taking off.
Has anyone got any ideas what this thumping could be?

My car is now "clunking" into fourth gear, mostly when downshifting and only when it is cold. Not sure if it's the same thing you're experiencing but I have a service appt booked.

Don't think so. It is more related to pushing gas pedal. It is very strange because it never happens before I pass 50km/h (31mph) and get that initial "thump". After that almost every time I stop and then pull away I get "thump" when touching gas peddal.
The car has 6500 miles now but this started around 3000 miles.

I have a 2019 and I haven't noticed this issue, but I've only got about 1200 miles on the clock. I'll look out for it.
