C205 hands free boot opening / eco stop
Hi everyone Ive had a problem with my hands free boot opening (trunk in america) and the eco stop start. left it into dealer who says that the eco stop is linked to the hands free boot opening they're gonna replace a sensor behind the rear bumper. I find this really unbelievable as I cannot see how the eco stop is linked to the hands free boot opening Ive already had a battery replaced in the eco stop sometime ago and it worked for a short time but then stopped. The hands free never worked and I assumed my car didn't have it fitted as it is 2016 model Has anyone else experienced this problem. Thanks

I haven't had any issues with my '17's auto trunk opening (boot in Northern Ireland ), but my ECO mode won't engage, even though it's enabled.
I have a shorter commute now, so I stopped dropping into my Individual mode where I have it disabled.
I haven't taken it to the dealer to check it out...yet.
Not sure if this is related, but I'll post when I get it checked out or learn anything.

Hands free trunk seems to be a toss up depending on which Benz you get. It was incredibly finicky on my 2016 E350 to the point where I stopped trying to use it reliably, but nearly perfect on my 2019 C300.
One thing that I've been able to replicate most of the time with the hands free trunk is that it's more likely to not work when I have my key fob in the same pocket as my cell phone.

good luck I got mine working and for your information it is apparently linked to the start stop system. Hard to believe but I was assured by Mercedes tech that they are.
