M274 engine. C200 vs C300
I want to buy a C200 Coupe 2016 with the 2 litre petrol engine M274 around 100k km on clock, 184 HP. It is made in Germany.
I have read a lot about this engine online and noticed many people having this engine fail even with correct maintenance and early mileage. The thing is I only saw people having this nightmare with a C300 or E300 or a car that has 300 in their model name. Why this? Are the pistons better on the C200 than on C300? Am I safe to buy this car without the constant fear of it failing? Are there reports of C200 M274 engine failure?
Guys, thanks in advance for all your answers.
Lower power and torque for the C200 version means less combustion pressure, therefore everything in the engine has lower stress. Theoretically this could mean longer engine life or less likely for serious failures.
