just got my 1997 c280 back from the dealer that i brought in for a few things including a "major" tune up which was to be 1200.00 bux
and included changing the tranny fluid. But when i got the car back, the " consultant" told me the tech didnt do the transfluid change because its a sealed unit and with my milage (109xxx), i may be "opening up a can of worms". he said that when the milage is that high, the dirty fluid fills in the gaps in the gears and when u change the fluid, the gaps will cause the tranny to deterioate quickly and damage the tranny. ( i swear this is exactly what he said!!). is this guy serious??

This is true unless you change your trans fluid every 30 k. If you have the fluid in there for 100k miles, I wouldn't change it either.
