I need help! :(

Hey, I was putting new rims on my car and stuff. Then I took them off and put the stock rims back on and drove around. While I was driving I noticed a scratching noise that got very loud when I slowed down. It was coming from the rear right rotor. I've heard it might of been something I hit when I was putting the rims on but I have no idea what to look for? Thanks

could be few things, when you tried on your new rims, did it come with new lug nuts? and when you put back your original rims, did you remember to use the original mercedes lug nuts. some aftermarket rims requires and comes with longer lug nuts, now if you used thses longer lug nuts on the original rims, it will hit the internal mechanisms in the rear drum assembly. but without hear more from you, it would be hard to say exactly where the noise is coming from.

jack up the car and manually spin the tires and listen for the noise to isolate which disk the noise is coming from. i really think that somehting have come loose inside the rear drum portion of the disk. The rear disk is also a drum brake - the drum brake portion is used for the parking brake system, maybe a spring or somehting have come loose when the long lug nuts where first attached. even though you did not ride on the new rims, if the new lug nuts where too long, it could have hit somehting in sode the drum portion to make somehting come loose insise.

Raise up the car, put it in neutral and release the parking brake. just make sure to put a stopper on the front tires, and start spinning those wheels. hope this helps.

yeah just as manong suggests, jack up the rear, (make sure to put a block in front of the tires) best if you are able to get both wheels off the ground but not totally necessary, put the car in neutral and spin the rear tires.
