Just got a 95 c220 and the cassete deck is broken. The lcd is blackened out and it doesnt turn on or play anything. It doesnt even accept cassetes! A search on ebay found that it costs about $115 to replace it. This seems like alot for a tape deck...Is it worth it to replace it with a working stock radio or what? Is the stock ones quality really good? Forgive me if i sound dumb :-p im new to these cars(but very impressed with 'em!). It has the alpine cd changer in the trunk and would love to use that. So any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

 

Bose sound system or not? If it is Bose keep it oem

 

checked the covers and they dont say bose anywhere on them. do i need to take the covers off or should the bose logo be visible on the outside? So if they are not bose i should get a new cd deck?

 

Go to your trunk and look at the bottoms of the rear deck speakers and it will say Bose if it is Bose.

 

no bose, they have some numbers and the mercedes logo and thats it. are these stock speakers any good or what?

 

No Bose = reaplce system. At least that's what I'd do.
