All Windows Stopped Working!
Hey everyone,
New to this forum. I was checking out a 1999 c230 Kompressor earlier today, and all the windows wouldn't work. The owner said they all died at the same time earlier this week. I checked under the hood and found fuse #7 to be common for all the windows.... it was fine.
Is there some type of relay or module that controls the windows? All 4 are completely dead. Won't go up or down or make any noise.

I have similar problem. Here is what I have found out.
Try disconnecting/reconnecting the neg battery terminal (remember to get your radio code!!). Does this fix it? It resets all the window controller modules. You will also have to reset the window memory position (see user handbook).
If it fixes it but they keep breaking, you have a dodgy controller somewhere. The controll modules are integrated with the motor inthe back doors but I am told they are separate units in the front doors.
I am still trying to trace which one of mine is faulty.
Do your electric door mirrors work? Mine stop when the windows fail.

The other thing to check is push the window buttons just before the click that auto downs/ups them and see if they roll down. I had a sync issue with mine and they went through the procedure outlined in the owners manula to re-sync the windows and now they all work fine.

On m 94, there is a convenience control relay in the trunk. It's between the battery and the frame rail, and impossible to see with the battery in the way. Mine got wet and all my windows stopped working at once. I took it out, cleaned it very carefully, and put it back in.
Be VERY careful not to pull any of the tips off those 50 wires plugging into the relay. The only way the stealership knows to replace that wiring harness is by installing a whole new $3,500 wiring harness for the entire car (from the firewall to the rear).
