bad mpg and weak engine

1994 C280 Sports Edition with ASR (German version)

3 problems:
My engine is very well maintained and suddenly it's been having bad fuel economy and i felt it generally weaker... Some guy mentioned that it was my Air Mass sensor.

Also, my temperature usually runs a little higher than the line just before the red line. I have a german version so it's about 100 degrees C. I remember it usually running at 80 degrees, is this normal cause of the summer heat?

I have a whine coming from around the back wheels whenever i step on the gas. It isn't so bad and i'm pretty sure it's the differential but just wanna check

What do you guys think? I really love this car, i've had it for 5 years and would hate to trade it in for a beemer cause or these unresolved problems.

Bad mileage and weaker could be air mass sensor. What kind of mileage on the
car? Not sure about the latter problem. Most of us have replaced the air mass
sensor. In my case, the car ran like crap with no power and eventually started to die, idle then shut off etc.

My car has about 200k mileage (in km) about 130k miles

Thanks for your help... Thought it could be the air mass sensor. But is there anyway to know before actually buying one?

Bad MPG - I would check your O2 sensors. They are generally good for about 60k which would mean you are due for your next set. While you're at it , get thr fuel filter changed also!
