Question Anyone replace their tension pulley from the recall

I got notice and scheduled to have the tension pulley replaced under the MB
recall. I haven't noticed any noises coming from it but since they're replacing
I figure it's worth the hour drive. I don't have the recall notice in front of me
but think it covered 1998-2000 C280 etc.

Hey, i scheduled an appointment on the 20th of december for jan 9th! that was the earliest the dealership had for me. Its not making any noises for me but about 3k miles ago whe i bought the car i had the serpentine belt and crank pulley replaced. Its worth the 1 FREE hour checkup b/c of the "service campaign". yea i think its for a Harmonic Balancer Pulley FOR CERTAIN 1998-2001 VEHICLES. It is Service Campagn#2005-020003

Makes sense and thanks for the details. I have my notice at work and I'm home
for the week. I have mine scheduled for next Thursday.

Will do. I was waiting on my sister to have hers fixed and the dealer did. So, I
just fired off an email asking her to look at the invoice to see what they replaced. As soon as she replies (should be by tomorrow evening unless she's
out of town). I'll post the parts they replaced on her E430 (I'm sure it's the same type of parts for our C class).

Her appointment is tomorrow. She mentioned they're replacing the rear glass
and all. She'll shoot the invoice of parts along when done. I'll keep you posted.

Exclamation Recall

I took mine in for the recall and they told me it wasn't needed. Right after, I had a nasty valve cover leak and had to get that replaced. Now I think I need a new air mass meter because the car is having trouble getting going when I give it the gas foot.

Ahha i think that its a recall its valid for the rest of the vehicle, and not just that time period. If it goes bad at ANY time then i think its valid that MBUSA replace it at no cost to the owner of the vehicle because it was THEIR fault.... that is my understanding. Check your MAF and your sparkplugs and your fuel compresser thingi( sorry forgot the real name check 2-3 threads below this one) check your coil packs.... even your air filter...
