C220: Oil and filter recommendations(s)

Looking at the Mobil 1 site, I got this result:

Current Vehicle:
Year: 1996
Make: Mercedes-Benz
Model: C220
Engine Type: 4cyl. 2.2Liter

Mobil 1 0W-40
A fully synthetic motor oil, Mobil 1 0W-40 with SuperSyn Technology exceeds industry standards and the major leading builder requirements, enabling the product to keep performing well after conventional oils cannot. Mobil 1 is recommended by leading car manufacturers as initial fill.

Where can I find this oil? Haven't seen it in Walmart.

Also is there a fleece filter for this engine that can be used or available? I know the newer engines use a fleece type filter which helps in extended oil drain intervals. Currently I'm using th eMobil 1 Truck&SUV as this oil is alos rated for gasoline engines and I use it in my diesel. I found the info above as I want to find an oil more specific for this engine.

My mechanic use's AGIP Racing Syntec with stock Mercedes Filter...

I guess oil and filter doesn't really matter as long as you change it when ur suppose to, like i said i use syntec oil and they say change it around 8,000 km but i change it around 5,000km..Canadian metric system, lol

michakaveli, the Autozone's in Miami, FL usually carry M1 0W-40. Even if the Autozone in your area (if you have them) don't have it in stock, maybe they can order it for you. It retails here for about $6/quart. They also sometimes carry the Belgian Castrol 5W-40. I haven't seen the much ballyhooed on BITOG German Castrol 0W-30. All of these are ACEA A3 oils. You could get even fancier and order up some Elf oil (check eBay, there is a distributor here in the USA) as well as many others.
Good luck in your motor oil adventures.

does it seem to anyone that 0w-40 seems really thin? Is this good year-round?

It says for me to use 0w40, but last oil change I used 10w40 Mobil 1 and I typically use an STP filter.
