Issue - Merc W202 Unable to Reprograme Key
Hi All,
I own a Mercedes C280 (W202), my problem is I am unable to get the car to recognise the Remote.
I have tried the following sequences to repromme the key to the car with sucess once and now it refuses.
1, Point the Key at the Door - Press the button then unlock the boot or passenger door
2, Point the key at the door - press the button then turn the ignition to position II.
3, Point the key at the mirror press the butting twice and urn the ignition to position II.
Does any have a method to reprogramme the key, I have managed to start the engine by getting the car to flash green but I am unable to get into the petrol cap to refill with fuel?
Any help we be gratefully appreciated.
Regards
Stuart

If it is flashing green, the key is being recognized. You might have a vacuum leak that is preventing the latch on the cap from being released. Have you tried releasing the petrol cap while the engine is running? I'm not sure if the latch is released when the engine is running, but if it is, the vacuum should be at its highest at that time.

fuel door lock
I had the same problem with my 97 c280 all I did was replace the vacum operated lock which located behind the passengers side rear quater panel (behind the fuel door),It can be challenging to remove and the vacum line is not that easy to remove and swap out to the replacement lock. "Have fun"

You guys rock, I have managed to reprogramme the car once but now the light acknowledge the car but never unlock/lock but I can hear a clicking from the boot/petrol cap. I found the manualy overide for the petrol cap and will be reviewing the vavle ASAP.
Thank you all for your advise I have a list of the re-programme commands if anyone wants them.
Does anyone know what time if imobiliser my Mercedes has?
