newbie needs help bad
Hi guys I am new here and have a question? My mom has a 1997 c280 sport with 68000 miles on it. Thequestion is she just drove it from Salt Lake to Las Vegas and right has she got to Vegas the check engine light came on and it started running rough. After she parked it we noticed it was leaking oil. Checked the oil and it is low but it still shows up on the dipstick. Is the motor shot? or is it something that can be fixed? This car is well immaculate and has never leaked oil? Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

Not something I can advise on without hearing the motor run. If the oil was still showing on the dipstick it should be ok if you topped it up
What caused the problem in the first place ,had the engine boiled because it had leaked coolant? or did it lose oil because of a leak?. You have to find the cause of the problem before it wrecks the engine .
Suggest you get a mechanic to look at the car and advise.
