Question 98 C280 sport HELP)))))))))

=Solved=

OK, so I just bought this car, and it was running fine etc..drove it 111 miles home to San Diego from LA....later that night tried to start it and it wouldn't start, sounded as though no fuel was getting through. Got it to start and the next morning as I was warming up the car getting ready for school, about 3-4 mins have passed and it dies all by itself. Crank it up and it fires up right away, so I drive to to school and about 4 hours have passed, I get ready to go home, this time I didn't warm up the car and she dies on me at the light as my foot was on the brake waiting for the ight to turn green.

What could be the problem to this mysterious behavior? It seems if when the car isnt warmed up fully, or reaching a certain point the engine would just shut off for some reason. So far I've changed the fuel filter thinking that it might have been clogged, and I hear the fuel pump buzzing or turned on, but could it be the fuel pump is almost dying out?

Anyone ever experience this problem before?

forgot to mention

ONe thing I forgot to mention is that when I'm slowing down, about to come to a stop, the rpm's fluctuate up and down before it remains constant.

hope that helps

what kinds of fluctuations?? I think it's just the gears downshifting.
